In this hands-on session, you’ll learn basic pottery techniques to create your own unique clay masterpiece. Whether it’s adorable animal sculptures, personalized bowls, or themed creations, this option lets everyone explore their creativity while playing with clay.

Depending on the project, your piece will then be glazed in our house white glaze or a selection of colourful accent glazes.

If you enjoy decorating, this option lets you focus on adding your artistic touch to pre-made ceramic pieces. Before the party, we’ll agree on a type of bisqueware for your group to paint, such as mugs, plates, or ornaments. Everyone will paint the same item, but there’s plenty of room for personal creativity with colors and designs! We’ll handle the kiln firing after the party to turn your creations into finished keepsakes.

No prior experience is needed—pottery parties are beginner-friendly and designed for all ages to enjoy. I provide all the materials and guidance, ensuring a fun, creative experience for everyone.

Decorate the space: You’re welcome to come and decorate up to 2 hours before the event with banners, balloons, or any party décor of your choice. Just let us know in advance if you’d like to arrange this.

Bring your own nibbles: Feel free to bring snacks or refreshments to enjoy during the party. Please note that we do not have cutlery or crockery available, so you’ll need to bring your own disposable ware if required.

Music and vibes: We provide a portable Bluetooth speaker that you can use to play your own playlist during the event. Simply connect it to your phone to set the perfect mood while creating!

Collecting your pottery: Your creations will be fired and glazed, ready to collect from the John Marley Shop in 4-6 weeks after your event. Please see our pottery care for more information regarding our firing process and things to be aware of.
