Book a workshop in our evolving community studio based in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne.

In Soul Ceramiks' workshops, you will learn a range of techniques which have been passed down through ancient traditions and are still used today.

Ever wanted to learn how to throw pottery?  

Throwing Lessons

  • Throw 3 pots on the wheel and choose the best one to be fired and glazed. £35 per person.

  • Throw 2 pots on the wheel and choose the best one to be fired and glazed. Children under the age of 12: £25 per person.

  • Save money and book a block of throwing sessions:

    4 Sessions: £120

    6 Sessions: £170

    8 Sessions: £230

    Includes firing and glazing of up to 8 final pieces of work, additional work will be subject to a £5 fee per piece for glazing and firing.

  • Depending on how many sessions you book, you can learn how to wedge clay ready for throwing, centre clay on the wheel, open up your pots, bring up the walls of pots, giving shape to your pieces, trimming, troubleshooting, and how to remove your pieces safely from the wheel head.

    Join us every Saturday for a relaxed, beginner-friendly pottery throwing session in my cosy studio. Whether you're completely new to the wheel or just looking to get your hands dirty and try something creative, this is a great place to start.

    While these Saturday sessions are the ones we run regularly, we actually offer throwing workshops most days throughout the week. If weekends don’t work for you, or you’re interested in booking a block of sessions to build your skills, feel free to get in touch — We’re happy to arrange something that fits your schedule.
